ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
San Bernardino County should be the leader in solar and wind technologies and green energy production.
We must reduce the negative effects of global warming by providing public and encouraging private investments in alternative and renewable fuels on a massive scale. This is and should be a cornerstone of any stimulus/jobs package.
We should also abide by and in fact lead the world in internationally negotiated pollution standards.
We must maintain control over the oil companies so that the gouging and windfall profits of the past never return.
It is shameful that the United States is not leading the world toward a greener future. We should be setting the example. Green technology is not only prudent, but it is economically advantageous. Why we are not seeing vast arrays of solar panels and more windmill farms in our deserts is a testament to the ineffectiveness and misrepresentation of our current Congressman. If we had a Congressman who cared, we would be awash in energy producing jobs in our district.
